The formal financial sector is increasingly recognizing the potential of women entrepreneurs. Microfinance institutions, in particular, are focused on empowering women who are turning small loans into thriving businesses.

• Arza Parveen (The Kiryana Owner): After her husband was injured, Arza, a widow, used a microfinance loan to start a small general store (kiryana). She built a steady monthly income and, through her resilience, became the primary financial pillar for her family.
• Anila Naz (The Salon Owner): Anila used a microfinance loan to expand her hairdressing business in Islamabad. Despite facing setbacks (like the COVID-19 pandemic), access to formal credit allowed her to rebuild and expand, transforming her from “a zero to a hero,” as she described it.
• Ayesha Bibi (The Seamstress): Ayesha used a series of small microfinance loans to expand her tailoring business. She not only increased her own monthly income but also hired two helpers, creating jobs and having a positive social impact in her local community.

These stories prove that women have the talent and determination; they only need the capital and the confidence that financial literacy provides.
